قبل قليل أعلن المجلس الوطني للمراجعات National Board of Review عن قائمة جوائزه السنوية التي تكرم الإنجازات الأفضل في السينما الأمريكية كل عام ، و توّج فيلم المخرج الكبير مارتن سكورسيزي Hugo بجائزة أفضل فيلم و نال سكورسيزي جائزة أفضل إخراج ، في حين عاد نجما Michael Clayton جورج كلوني و تيلدا سوينتون إلى واجهة الجوائز بفوزهما بجائزة أفضل ممثل و ممثلة ، و نال فيلم Rango جائزة أفضل فيلمٍ رسومي و ذهبت جائزة أفضل فيلم أجنبي إلى الفيلم الإيراني A Separation .
و كان المجلس قد أعلن هذا العام تأجيل الإعلان عن جوائزه إلى اليوم الأول من شهر ديسمبر متخلياً بذلك عن عادته في إفتتاح موسم الجوائز الهوليوودي كل عام ، حيث إفتتحت جمعية نقاد نيويورك موسم الجوائز لهذا العام .
